Recommended Cloths. Warm cloths like sweaters and gloves, shorts and long sleeves, rain coat, long trousers and hiking shoes for the mountains.
Day by day itinerary
Day 1. Airport pickup and transfer to the hotel
Clients are picked up from the airport by our guide and given a warm welcome and later transferred to the hotel.
Day 2. Travel from Kampala transfer to Murchison falls
It’s the largest national park in Uganda of 3840km squared. One of the first national parks in Uganda in 1952 The main attraction is the river Nile which squeezes through 8m wide gorge and plunges with a thunderous roar into the devils cauldron creating a trademark rainbow. The northern part of the park is where most of the wildlife is found due to the savanna vegetation and the south is mainly dominated by the wood land. The park has over 75 animal species and 450 bird species. Clients will get to the lodge in the evening, freshen up and have early dinner.
Day 3. Go for the morning and evening game drive
We set off at 6am for the an early morning game drive to be able to see the different animal species grazing, feeding and sunbathing and here you can see, the elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, hippopotamus, buffalos and antelopes. After the morning drive, the clients can have a bush breakfast and later go back to the lodge of lunch and a resting afternoon. If the clients what they can do an evening game drive.
Day 4 . Do boat cruise and walk up the falls
The following day at 8am we check out of the lodge and set off for the famous Murchison Falls. The boat ride is almost to two hours which gives people enough time on the water to see the animals drinking and also take memorable pictures on the boat. The boat leaves the tourist at the foot of the falls which gives them a great adventure and also exercise for the adventurous tourist but might not be great for weak tourists as some areas are high. The nature walk is beautiful and mind blowing as it presents unique views for the tourists to see the great falls and at the end of the walk, the tourist is refreshed by the sight at the top of the falls where memorable pictures can be taken. The driver picks us up from the top of the falls and we have lunch at the nearby lodge then head to hoima where we shall spend the night.
Day 5. Transfer to Kibale NP
After breakfast, we shall head for Kibale NP, we shall get to the lodge in the afternoon but this will depend on the time we leave Hoima city, check into the property and have late lunch and get a briefing of the following day activities and later have an early dinner.
Day 6. Track chimpanzees
After breakfast, we set off for Chimp Tracking in the Kibale NP where one can track chimpanzees in their natural environment. We shall also get the opportunity to learn about the ecosystems of the park including vegetation types, bird identification and behavior and chimp and monkey ecology. Although chimp sightings are not guaranteed, visitors stand a pretty good chance of hearing and seeing them habituated. Tours last between one and three hours and start at 8am and 2pm daily. After lunch, we shall transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP. Where we shall spend the night.
Day 7. Do a morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
In order to see many animals, we set out for the game drive at 6am in the morning. After the morning drive, the clients can have a bush breakfast or head back to the lodge for a hot meal. After lunch the clients will go for an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel.
Day 8. Transfer to bwindi impenetrable national park
After breakfast we shall proceed to Bwindi Mgahinga conservation area at your preferred accommodation. Bwindi Mgahinga conservation area has five tracking areas namely Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, Nkulingo and Nyakagyezi you are advised to refer to your Gorilla trekking permit to enable you select a suitable and closer accommodation. In this case, we shall go to Buhoma where our trekking will take place.
Day 9. Trek mountain gorillas
After your very early breakfast leave your accommodation to the sector of Gorilla tracking according to your permit. You are advised to be at the briefing centre at 7:30am to verify your permit and receive enough briefing about the activity by Uganda Wildlife Authority guide rangers. At any of the sites selected there are always porters who can carry your bags during tracking experience at a fee.
You will be close to the Mountain Gorillas one of our closest cousins; you will be advised to the guidelines offered at the site because they are endangered. Kindly remember to carry charged cameras, rain proof clothes, hiking shoes or boots to match with the terrain, on this day you will carry a packed lunch and enough drinking water. Your guide will brief you more about it. This is a life time experience and you will graduate with certificates from this world heritage site.
Day 10. Travel to Lake Mburo
The clients will depart from the hotel at 8 or 9 am, and head to lake Mburo. If the clients wish, they can stopover for a local lunch in Mbarara before continuing to Lake Mburo National park.
Day 11. Do a walking safari and community visit
Lake mburo National park is one of the few parks that provide walking tours which creates a great experience for the clients
Day 12. Transfer back to Kampala/ Entebbe
After breakfast, we shall do an early morning game drive as we head out of the park on our way to Kampala for the next flight back home. In case the clients have time, they can do some shopping at the crafts market.
